Corps Commanders Pledge ‘Swift and Decisive’ Response to Any Indian Aggression

Rawalpindi, October 8, 2025 — The Pakistan Army’s top brass, during the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held today at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, issued a strong warning to India, pledging a “swift and decisive response” to any act of aggression.

Chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the conference addressed what it termed “irresponsible and unwarranted provocative statements” recently made by Indian civil and military leadership.

Warning on “New Normal”

The military leadership expressed grave concern over the Indian rhetoric, noting that such statements fuel “war hysteria” and threaten regional peace and stability. The forum specifically vowed to dismantle any perceived Indian advantage in a conflict scenario.

“The forum pledged to counter any Indian aggression with a swift and decisive response, shattering any perceived notion of India’s relative safety accruing from geography,” stated the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) after the meeting. The commanders warned that any attempt by India to establish an “imaginary new normal” would be met with a “new normal of swift retributive response.”

The conference comes days after remarks by the Indian Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, who had reportedly warned Pakistan to cease “state-sponsored terrorism.”

Focus on Counter-Terrorism and Operational Readiness

The Corps Commanders undertook a comprehensive review of the prevailing security environment, including ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the emerging threat paradigm. The forum reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ resolve to continue comprehensive operations across all domains to eliminate networks of “Indian-sponsored terror proxies” like Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan.

Field Marshal Munir directed the commanders to ensure the “highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, physical fitness, innovation and responsiveness,” expressing “full confidence” in the Pakistan Army’s preparedness to counter threats across the entire spectrum, from conventional to hybrid and asymmetric challenges.

The military brass also affirmed that the “existing nexus between terror and crime with vested political patronage,” which they stated is gravely hurting the state’s interests and the security of its people, “will not be allowed to continue anymore.”

Diplomacy and Regional Support

In an expansion of the military’s typical agenda, the forum acknowledged the significance of Pakistan’s recent high-level diplomatic engagements. The participants welcomed the landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia, viewing it as a move to strengthen strategic relations and enhance multi-domain cooperation for a joint response to any external aggression.

Furthermore, the conference reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding principled stances on key regional issues:

  • Kashmir: Unwavering support was reaffirmed for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for their right to self-determination, in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
  • Palestine: The forum reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian cause, calling for an early ceasefire and humanitarian aid in Gaza, and endorsing a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders and Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.

The meeting commenced with prayers for the martyrs of recent terrorist attacks, which the military attributed to Indian-sponsored proxies
